newsletter cover

Frisbee Without Borders is front-page news in the Engineering Student Council's recently published October 2010 newsletter.

Frisbee Without Borders is an ultimate frisbee fundraiser sponsored by the UA student chapter of Engineers Without Borders. The event includes competitive and noncompetitive brackets and is open to everyone. It takes place on Saturday, Oct. 16, on the east end of the mall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The championship game will be played at the end of the day. Teams can register 5 to 9 players, with a $10 donation per person. All funds raised from the event will go toward EWB’s rainwater harvesting project in Mali, Africa.

The goal of the project is to enable storage of monsoon rainwater to provide clean drinking water during the dry seasons. For more information, or to register a team, contact ewb.arizona@gmail.com or pick up a form in ENGR 200. Teams must be registered by Oct. 11, 2010.

Other newsletter news and features include:

  • E-Talks, about workplace cultures
  • Math tutoring with the National Society of Black Engineers
  • La Familia hosted by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
  • Schedule of club events

The newsletter also publishes a calendar, and students are encouraged to contact the newsletter to publicize their events.
